Description

The Independence® is a bed that also sits and stands. At the press of a button it raises you to a seated position, turns 90 degrees toward the side of the bed, and lifts you up to standing. It is made for anyone who wants getting in and out of bed to take less effort.

Movable side arms give you something steady to hold, and the hard-wired remote clips to the handrail so it is always within reach. A battery backup keeps it working through a power cut.

A 6-inch memory foam mattress is included: 3 inches of gel-infused memory foam over 3 inches of supportive foam. Underbed lighting and a USB port on each side round it out.

Our standard Shipping Policy and Return and Refund Policy cover this product. Because it ships by freight from Customatic, some terms differ from those, and where they differ, the terms below govern.

Delivery

  • Ships free by freight truck within the contiguous United States. This product does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US.
  • Standard delivery is to your curb or dock. Moving the bed inside and setting it up is up to you.
  • Inspect the shipment before signing for it and report any damage to us right away.

Prefer white glove delivery?

  • For an extra $500, the delivery team brings the bed into your home and sets it up, covering one flight of stairs or an elevator the bed base and deck fit in.
  • Contact us before you order and we will arrange it for you.

Returns

  • This bed is final sale once delivered. Customatic does not accept returns, so we are not able to take it back.
  • If you refuse the delivery and the shipment is unopened, we refund your order less the return freight cost Customatic charges.
  • Shipping damage and manufacturing defects are not returns: report them to us right away and we will arrange a replacement or warranty repair.
Our Shipping Policy

All orders ship via the method best suited to the size and weight of the product. Smaller items ship via standard parcel carriers. Large items such as saunas and fitness equipment ship via LTL freight and require a scheduled delivery appointment.

  • Free shipping on every order in the Continental U.S. (excludes AK/HI), including freight delivery on large equipment. Nothing is added at checkout
  • Freight deliveries are curbside unless otherwise noted
  • You will be contacted to schedule a delivery appointment for freight orders
  • Inspect all items carefully upon delivery before signing. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves — failure to note damage at delivery may affect your ability to file a claim

Review Summary

What People Like

Aggregated from published reviews across the web, so the rating reflects every buyer, not just Motion Theory Labs customers.

This innovative sleep system is highly regarded for its ability to restore mobility and independence to seniors and individuals with physical challenges. Users and caregivers frequently praise its unique 4-in-1 design, which seamlessly transitions from a flat bed to a chair and provides motorized lift assistance, significantly easing the process of getting in and out of bed. The product is noted for its sturdy construction, comfortable memory foam mattress, and intuitive remote-controlled features, which together offer a safer and more dignified alternative to traditional medical equipment.

Pros
  • Enhanced MobilityThe rotating, sit-to-stand technology allows users with limited strength or balance issues to safely and independently get in and out of bed.
  • Comfortable MattressIncluded high-density, gel-infused memory foam provides excellent pressure relief and support for all-night comfort.
  • Sturdy ConstructionReviewers emphasize the high-quality build and stable design, which provide a sense of security during use.
  • User-Friendly ControlsThe motorized remote system with preset positions makes it easy to adjust the head, foot, and lift functions without extra effort.
  • Aesthetic DesignThe furniture-like appearance is frequently appreciated for looking more like a standard bed than clinical medical equipment.
Cons
  • High PriceSeveral potential buyers or reviewers note that the cost can be a significant barrier to entry.
  • Limited AvailabilityDue to popularity or manufacturing factors, the product can face stock shortages and long shipping delays.
  • Height ConstraintsThe bed dimensions and lift height may not be perfectly suited for all body types, with some sizes recommended specifically for certain user heights.
  • Assembly RequirementsWhile white-glove delivery is available, the complexity of the bed may make setup difficult for those opting for self-installation.
